Ruby and Lu in... Pokemon R/B/G: Adventure Through Kanto!

So let's start with Kanto! There will be no separate threads for setup and the actual RP. Just post your character description (in this case, you) and we'll start. Since you don't know what happens, I can just control the NPCs if you want? And also, you pick your Starter Pokemon first. That way, Gary gets the one weak to yours and the one strong to mine. Just because I am nice like that. :3 Also, do you want to play by Nuzlocke rules?
Okay then. Now that that is out of the way.

Name: Lu Stevens (random last name is random XD)
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Description: Tall, thin, brown hair, greenish-brown eyes, black framed glasses, white t-shirt with a tribal Lucario design, blue jeans, black sneakers, gray hoodie and a brown camping backpack to carry all his crap (the thing is heavy >.>).
Starter: XD No, no Zorua disguised as a Charmander. XD I pick Squirtle then. :3

Age: 14
Gender: Female
Appearance: Short, light brown hair, with two, very faded blond highlights right at the front. Pretty blue eyes, a little grayish as well and dark blue glasses. Pale skin, a little taller than average, as well as skinny. Wears a short-sleeved dark gray shirt that says L O V E on it in a lighter gray and two light gray stripes on each sleeve. Also wears a thin gray jacket with black stripes, where the black is somewhat see-through, always unzipped, and some blue jeans. White and grey sneakers. Has a little Zoraork-themed bag that has some stuff in it.

As for a starter...I don't suppose I could have a Zorua that just pretends to be a Charmander, huh? x'D

Let the RP start!

Lu woke up in the morning and cursed the sun that came through the window, dragging himself into the shower. After a quick wake-up shower, he got dressed and went downstairs, where his mother was preparing breakfast.

She smiled. 'Good morning sweetie!' She greeted him with a smile. 'You should eat your breakfast quickly. Professor Oak swung by earlier and he said that he wanted to see you!' She said. 'Oh, and you should bring Ruby as well. I think he wanted to see her too.' She added.

He nodded with a yawn and ate his breakfast. After he was done, he put his stuff in the sink and kissed his mother goodbye. 'See you mom.' He said with a slight smile and went outside. He winced when the sun hit his eyes. Blinking, he started walking through the streets of Pallet Town.Eventually he reached Ruby's house and rang the doorbell.

Ruby finished up her measly bowl of cereal before going to the bathroom to brush her hair and her teeth. A grey and black Pokémon with a long red mane twitched his ears. He heard someone coming. He dashed to the window just in time to see Lu ring the doorbell. Before he could notice him, Wolf dashed off to meet Ruby just as she exited the bathroom.
"Hey Wolf," she said, "who's at the door?"
He told her through telepathy and she smiled.
"Got it."
She alerted her mom who just nodded and went back to her sewing before opening the door.
"Hey Lu!" she exclaimed happily.
"What're you doing here?"

[Lu]

Lu smiled. 'Morning Ruby. Professor Oak wanted to see us both.' He said. 'You ready to go or do you need anything else?'

[Ruby♥]

"Oh? Okay give me a second," Ruby replied a bit surprised, going back inside. She told her mom that she had to go out to Professor Oak's place for something.
"Okay, just don't stay out too long," came her reply.
She rolled her eyes.
"Whatever you say." She grabbed her little Zoroark bag that she kept with her all the time and slipped on her shoes.
Wolf gave her a hug before she went out the door.
"Okay I'm ready," she said, wiping some gray fur off her shirt.

[Lu]

Lu nodded with a smile, raising his eyebrow a bit at the grey fur but ignoring it as he lead the way towards the lab. Walking up the hill and entering the building that the Professor called both his home and workplace, he looked around. 'Professor! We're here!' No one answered for a while. Then footsteps came.
'Oh lookie here. The loser and the losette.' Came a sneering voice.
Lu facepalmed. 'Good morning to you too, Gary...'
Gary Oak, the Professor's grandson, was in the doorway that lead deeper into the house. 'What do you guys need with Gramps?'
'He called us here.' Lu answered calmly.
'Well tough luck. He said he was going to Route 1. You better scram and go there if you wana meet him.' He said, sounding bored as he went away deeper into the house.
Lu sighed, turning to Ruby. 'Welp. Seems like we have no choice... Shall we?'

"Yeah, I guess so," Ruby replied, wondering what Wolf would have done if he'd been there.
"Probably chase after him," she said to herself with a laugh.

[Lu]

Lu chuckled. 'Yeah. We probably will have to.' He said, leaving the lab and walking all the way to Route 1. He shuddered. 'We don't have any Pokemon with us... We probably shouldn't do this.' He sighed. 'But if Professor Oak is in there somewhere, we gotta go.' He said, taking a step.
'RUBY! LU!' Came a voice from behind them.
Lu looked behind them and saw Professor Oak running as fast as his age let him. He stopped next to them. 'Phew. Thank Arceus I managed to get you. I was in the Lab all along. Gary tricked you.' He said, panting.
Lu rolled his eyes. 'Of course.'
Professor Oak sighed. 'I am sorry about this mess. Come on. Back to the Lab.' He said, leading the way.

"He's not much of a nice guy," Ruby pointed out, crossing her arms as she followed alongside Lu.
"So Professor," she started, "why did you call us?" she asked.

[Lu]

Lu laughed. 'That's an understatement. Gary is a dick.' He said. 'Sorry Professor.' He added.
'Oh that is quite alright. He is indeed a dick.' Oak agreed. 'I called you both because I want you two and Gary to receive a Starter and take the League Challenge. It's been a while since I last saw Trainers from Pallet on the Championship. It would be good to see a few more before I expire.' He said with a laugh. 'In fact, I don't think a Trainer from Pallet has been in Indigo Plateau as a League contestant since me and Agatha kicked some severe butt. Of course, Agatha is now an Elite Four.' He chuckled. They were now at the Lab's entrance. 'Please come inside. After you.' He said, letting the two of them inside first and leading them to the Lab.

Ruby was quiet for a minute as she took in what Professor Oak just told them and followed him into the Lab. She looked around in awe at all the monitors, papers and most of all, the books strewn around the room. When she found her voice again, she stared at the Professor, bewildered.
"Wait, what? Really, you're serious?" she asked, an edge of excitement to her voice. She tilted her head a bit to the side.
"Though...I am a bit new to Kanto... err, if you call almost a year still new," she said with a small laugh, "so I think I'd like to have an explanation..Though, this sounds very similar to how...erm..." she trailed off a little, unsure if she should say she was from the Unova region or not, having been told not to say anything about it, yet feeling like she could trust the Professor.

Lu raised an eyebrow.
Professor Oak looked at her. 'Yes? You were saying?' He asked with a kind smile.

"Oh, erm," Ruby started, a bit unsure.
"Well, I'm from Unova," she stated finally. "It's just like over there, I think," she finished.

[Lu]

Lu raised both his eyebrows in surprise. 'Really?! You never mentioned anything about it!' He said.
Professor Oak smiled. 'I know. Your mother and I had a talk a while back.' He said. 'But yes. It is exactly like in Unova. Now... Where were we...? Ah. Right.' He said, tapping a few buttons on his computer. A robotic arm came with a tray, three Pokeballs on it, each with a symbol resembling a flame, a leaf or a water drop. 'Well, here we have them. Pick a Pokemon you two.' He said with a smile.
Lu's eyes filled with excitement. 'Sweet!' He exclaimed, eagerly going to the tray. 'Oh uh... Ladies first I guess?' He said, looking back at Ruby with an embarrassed chuckle.

"Well I wasn't supposed to say anything about it," Ruby explained, "though she never told me she had talked with you, Professor."
Her blue eyes lit up with excitement when the tray with each Pokéball was brought forth. She laughed at Lu before scanning over her choices. She finally decided and took the one with the flame symbol on the front with a smile.
"I think I'll go with..erm, it's Charmander, right?" she asked with an embarrassed laugh, almost mixing up the Starter's name with her accustomed Unova Starter.

[Lu]

Professor Oak nodded with a smile. 'That's a good choice. Charmander can be powerful companions when trained well.' He turned to Lu. 'Your pick then.'
Lu looked between the Grass and the Water Pokeball, finally deciding on taking the Squirtle. 'I think I'll take this lil' guy. Gonna name him Michelangelo.' He said with a laugh.
Suddenly Gary burst into the Lab. 'Gramps!? What!? You said you'd let me choose a Pokemon!' He whined.
Oak rolled his eyes. 'You were a dick and sent them to Route 1 were they could have been attacked by Pokemon. You get whatever is left. Which would be Bulbasaur.' He said, handing him the Pokeball with a leaf.
Gary was about to protest but Professor Oak looked at him something fierce. 'Gary, I am just giving you this because you are my grandson. If I was any other Professor, I'd send you home and tell you to wait another year. So shut up and let me talk.'
Gary gulped, taking the Pokeball and nodding.
Oak sighed. 'Now. I want each of you to have this.' He said, taking three Pokedex units from a drawer. 'This is the latest model. Has everything you need to know about every Pokemon from Kanto to Kalos. It will be your biggest asset during this journey. Don't lose it, since it can also serve as your ID. Just swipe your Trainer Card on them. Which reminds me.' He pulled three cards. 'There you go.' He said, handing everyone their Trainer Card. 'Now you are all set. I wish you all good luck. Do not hesitate to call me if you want.' He said with a kind smile.
Gary laughed. 'I will become the Champion before you two even get your first Gym Badge! Smell ya later losers!' He said before absconding.'
Lu rolled his eyes and turned to Ruby. 'Wanna have a battle? Just to get us started?' He asked with a smile.

Ruby laughed. "I didn't know you liked TMNT..er, TMNS," she said with a giggle. "Assuming that's where the name came from," she added.
When the Pokédex and Trained Card were handed to her, she eyed them with excitement, having helped hand these very items out occasionally back at Professor Juniper's Lab, though never really giving any thought that she'd be in the place of the excited new Trainer. Now she knew how they felt.
Ruby placed the two objects in an outside pocket of her bag where they'd be easily accessible temporarily till she found a better place to put them.
At Gary's comment, she gazed in the direction he fled and asked sarcastically, "Is he blind?" Referring to Terezi Pyrope and how she used scent to get a sense of what's around her.
At the prospect of a battle, she was a bit unsure. "I dunno. I've never really battled before. Only with a few of my mom's Pokémon and a whacky Zoroark who lives with us." She laughed.
"And those were all Ghost, Poison and Dark types..." She gazed down at the Pokéball in her hands with the flame depicted on its front.

[Lu]

Lu smiled. 'Well then, time to battle with your own Pokemon.' He said. 'So shall we?' He asked eagerly.
'If you're battling, please do so outside.' Professor Oak asked.

"I don't even know its moves!" Ruby protested, "And Water against Fire isn't exactly a fair match-up," she added, reluctantly following Lu outside.
